Seraphina Lenz

Between the English cottage and prefabricated buildings or floating in cable cars with a view of Marzahn’s skyline, the performance locations of "ANSPIEL" always reflect the urban image of Marzahn-Hellersdorf. With her performance project, Seraphina Lenz addresses the sensitive space between the IGA Berlin 2017 – which is changing the appearance of the city – and the citizens of Marzahn-Hellersdorf. What do people here think and how do they feel in the face of change? In a collaborative process with residents, "ANSPIEL" develops a performative concept and proposes aesthetic possibilities for negotiating and mediating in the public sphere.

Seraphina Lenz’s artistic work examines processes of change and questions of involvement, often by means of participatory interventions in urban public space.
